Just for the record the ICARE said give an honest appraisal and then in parenthesis it said venting. So here it comes...haha no really though I guess first off our videos are suppose to be 90 seconds right? I noticed all the examples where much longer. And honestly some had some audio issues.
I like the help that you have given us with the different handouts and the storyboard instructions. I also really liked the storyboard template. I am feeling a little overwhelmed with everything. I am writing this and I have worked the last 3 days from morning to night on different things with my capstone. Really, I need a day off to just relax. Gather my thoughts, find my happy place...

I have been using google forms for a while. But, I have never really actually used them for what I think I should. Really, I use them as a workaround for not paying for newsela. I will take the articles that I want read and convert them from PDF’s to a google doc and I will take the quiz from the readings and use them to insert them into a graded google form. I will then have it posted on Google Classroom for my students to take. I really like using the add-on flubaroo. It helped with doing more things with the grading then just grade the answers. It helped by finding more info and what sections I need to focus on in the future. Flubaroo is easy to use and is a gives a lot of feedback data. I highly recommend this add-on. So it was late on a friday and my principal called me up and first asked why I was still at school and then she thanked me for still being there. She comes to me for all her technological needs. So, we still work in webmail and she could not get her mail merger to function correctly. So I had the opportunity to show off and teach her about Autocrat. There is so much you can do with this add-on. We fulfilled her needs and I was able to look good and keep my street cred in the process. I have also used Autocrat and created a form where the students would plug-in different grammar words and then put it into form and creating a funny story. It is very interesting to use and very cool. I would give this a thumbs up. Once you know how to use it, it is very easy to use I used Goobric with Doctopus to grade any papers that I have my students write. I really like using these two together. There is a little bit of a learning curb but if you pluck away at it you will get it and then it works well. Also, I wish it were easier to write comments on papers in google. It helps having the rubric and you can show why the student got the grade they got. I give Goobric with Doctopus a thumbs up. I have used Google Forms for a few years now. Honestly I feel that it is pretty easy to build forms. The challenge for me would be adding autocrat with it. I liked the article that spoke about the homework check up for his literature students. I will probably try and incorporate that somehow into my class next year. I think that using it as a tool to find out previous knowledge is valuable. I think that incorporating that with the concept of looking at homework as overtime pay is important. I am still working out the details for how I am going to set up my curriculum next year. As in years past I did not really give homework because of low performance. With that I never put any emphasis on it maybe if I changed my focus and use it as an explanatory thing then set up as optional to get a higher grade it could work. Take all of this and use Google Forms and I think I may have a successful time with it.
I will also use Google forms in my capstone. I plan on using it as a way to collect data from my readers on what videos or instructions they will want. I feel that it is a way of spreading transliteracy through my project. |
